So I've tried uploading and checking on the navigations in here in terms of uploading webcomics.
And here are some of my observations..
For Creators
For a creator, it's easy to use. Very light-weight. Easy to upload and compose descriptions and everything.
There are multiple layouts in terms of using the gallery, as seen in the previous upload. Although I don't know the limit of images uploaded. WebToons can go over 50-60 panels in one chapter.
I haven't seen a setting where you can filter the bottom navigation of the comic "episode". It defaults on your last older post. Not on your previous comic episode. Even if you already set a filter by tag in the post settings. See images below.
The only solution I see for this (for now) is, after reading an episode, you get back to homepage - which is strenuous to do repeatedly.
If you have an existing library of comics to upload here, there's no way of changing of order of chapters or episode when you upload them. Not now at least.
With that being said, if you upload daily, the problem is you don't want your inbox to be spammed. I don't know if there's a frequency of weekly summary option in email newsletters. Although their latest update on paid features addresses that.
For Readers
For a reader, it's easy to use as well. The friction I can see here is, if they want to follow a comic or a creator, they need an email or an ATmosphere account. Email subscription will be enabled when the author/artist availed it via paid feature. RSS is available as well.
For a reader, I don't know yet if there's a feature where you can see chapter lists, where you can skip and skim thru over a certain chapter or episode.
For a reader, I don't know if their comment on a comic episode will show on their Bluesky account or everywhere in the ATmosphere.
For a reader, if you paused reading and exit, you need to search back where you started, there's no "continue where you left".
For a reader, approach this as primarily a blog platform, so some QoL from webcomic platforms will be different here. I don't know if there will be a bookmarks feature.
We'll see in future updates though if there will be changes.
Then here is a sample test link if you want to share something from around the web. Like a Patreon or a website or video or something.
I don't know yet if you can edit the thumbnail image of an external link.
